Prologue
Long long time ago, in a village on an island country in the East, people lived peacefully and in harmony. Until one day, a band of goblin's called Oni, vile creatures from the gate of hell, invaded their village, slain their men and raped their women. The horror of the ordeal was baked onto the eyes of Hitomi, then a little girl, too young to be picked by the invading goblins.
Hitomi grew up to become a beautiful young lady. Her mind though, was set on one thing. Revenge. She studied martial arts, trained with fury, and readied herself for battle. The villagers called her "Momotaro" liking her to the legendary goblin slayer from the fairly tales. The original Momotaro was named as it was said he was born from a peach (Momo, in the Villager's language). Some of the villagers joked behind her back that she had a round and impressive peachy bottom fitting to her nick name. She has come of age and she is now setting out to face the enemy of her life.
Hitomi's monologue.
It was a long and tiring journey to Onigahisma, the stronghold of Onis. I managed to reach my destination in half the time expected. My pace quickened by the burning flame of vengeance. The demons from this hostile land had raided my village. many of my family had perished, and most of those who survived were broken physically and mentally from the terror. I had been training to kill for all my life. I have the best weapon, I was the best fighter in the wider kingdom. I am ready. After landing, I made my way in haste to what seemed to be their fort , a skull shaped rock hill with a mouth like dugout...
I closed on to the structure quietly and confidently. I did not hide. I wanted the Onis' attention. I am here to fight not to infiltrate. Soon I spotted a couple of slight figures, pointing at me.
As I move forward, I realize my progress is slower than I had expected. The ground was soft and squishy, almost flesh like. The air also felt a lot heavy. It's annoying humidity and heat drew out sweat which was running down my skin in clear beads. I noticed I was panting, which meant I was taking in the unwanted sticky sweet scent of the island's air, possibly laced with toxins into my nostrils. I told my self "I can still do this!". I was still confident.
Suddenly, I Spotted a ghostly figures move around at the base of the Skull shaped rock. "Under goblins!" I recognized them. I have seen and slain many of them that had caused menace in my and other village near by. I launched myself forward with my trusted Naginata halberd on my hand aiming straight at them.
As I lowered my guard, I quickly realize I was breathing
quite heavily, and sweating profusely. My body heat so
unnaturally raised. My time on Oni’s domain
was already taking a toll.
“Well-done, little… hum, a Girl? How curious!”
A low booming voice came down from above, I turned. Though I could only see a dark mist rising from the Skull shaped fort, I quickly realized I was in a presence of something
much bigger and extremely evil. For the first time on this quest I was afraid.... I mustered up my entire strength to gulp down my fears... This is what I been training for all my 20 odd years of life. It was here, the object of my wrath, my hatred, my vengeance, and ... my fear.Momotarō was born from a giant peach, which was found by an old lady as the fruit floating down a river. The lady and her husband adopts Momotaro. When he matured, Momotarō left his parents to fight a band of Oni -Japanese demons who marauded over their land. Onis reside on a distant mystic island called Onigashima. With the aid of animals he met on his journey Momotarō is victorious over the Onis and returns home with treasure and the Oni chief as a captive.
